Age Ain’t Nothin’ But a NUMBAH: Tata Harper Saves My Eyes

Tata Harper, to the natural beauty, is sort of like caviar to the foodie.

It’s one of the most luxurious and trusted companies out there that supports the use of all natural ingredients that are biocompatible with our skin. According to their website, Tata Harper packs between nine and 29 active ingredients into each bottle, (most cosmetic formulas contain between one and three) and they manufacture in small batches so you know that your product is fresh and hasn’t been sitting on a shelf for two years.

Tata Harper Eye Creme

All right, enough love for now! Jennifer was so kind this Christmas and got me Tata Harper’s Restorative Eye Créme ($90 for 15 ml). Being an eye cream junkie, you can imagine my glee! I want to tell you what sets Tata apart for me in the eye cream department.

First off…the packaging is just…beautiful. But it could come in a paper bag for all I care: as long as it WORKS! Its active ingredients include Spanish lavender, which has a calming effect. It also contains borage oil which helps calm inflammation (puffiness). I must say, I was a little skeptical when it claimed to “relax wrinkles in two hours, diminish lines in 24 hours, minimize puffiness in 28 days, and minimize wrinkles in 35 days.” Those are some big claims. I have been using this product for about three months, so let me tell you my experience with it.

The scent is so fresh, smelling of flowers and lemons. It just makes me so happy…I love putting it on because it makes me feel awake and special and pretty. It’s not TOO much, but just enough in the scent department. This eye cream goes on very smooth without any roughness, and absorbs into the skin pretty quickly, but doesn’t disappear. I never feel the need to reapply.

Tata’s Restorative Eye Cream claims to “brighten” the eye area. Now, this can mean different things to different people. For pretty much everyone, dark circles are sometimes a problem (even when you’re well rested). This is general aging stuff, or genetics…and there’s not a whole lot we can do about it. Now, for someone like ME, who is nearly transparent in terms of skin tone, I get dark circles, certainly. But even more, it sometimes feels as though my skin is made of tissue paper, and that people are able to see every little capillary and vein. This is magnified when I am not rested or if I’ve had a rough day. I didn’t think Tata Harper could really do much for ME in the way of brightening up the eye area, but somehow, I can say, there is a difference. The skin around my eyes doesn’t look as transparent. My veins aren’t as easily seen, and braving the world without concealer on a day off seems plausible. Under eye concealer is a whole other blog, for another day…don’t worry, we’re gonna talk about it! So, all and all, yes: Tata actually DOES stand up to the claims of “eye brightening.” Who knew? Perhaps I should stop being so cynical…

As far as the fine lines are concerned, let me just say: I am 29, and I have worked hard to use SPF every day of my life since I was 19. Like a Tim Burton heroine…I pretty much glow in the dark. All of this ghostliness aside, it’s not like I don’t have little lines that pop up. I am a highly expressive person, and have been since birth, so I have already got some forehead and laugh lines happening. I may be pushing 30, but a shrinking violet I AM NOT! Tata agrees! (Right, Tata?!)

I deeply believe in these preventative measures. It’s investing in yourself. Within a month of using this product, I felt that the fine lines surrounding my eyes had definitely started to diminish, and my make-up didn’t settle under my eyes into the creases as much. (You know, when it’s been a 12-hour day and everything is just melting?)

One of the magical things, too, is that it REALLY does de-puff your eyes. Apply, and within 10 minutes you’re looking at “awake” eyes. I was so impressed with the effectiveness of this product that I started using any excess I had on the creases around my mouth and brow line. Ha! Not what it’s for, but it sure does work! My skin feels tighter and smoother.

I have to give this product an enthusiastic 10 out of 10. Yes…this product will set you back $90. I know. A lot. Some may ask, is it worth it? Or practical, even? This is a perfect example of a splurge for when you get a bonus at work or a little extra tax return money. Tata’s products are top notch, and once every now and then, it’s important to feel like you are treating yourself like a queen. I can’t think of a better brand to take a chance on than Tata Harper.

Yes, certainly a little pricey for sure. It lasts a good amount of time, I’d say 6 months or longer- I am not even half way through mine at this point, and have been using for 3 months. :0) Definitely a great find for a little indulgent gift for yourself. Love the packaging as well. :0)
