You know those boxes in buildings that read, “IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, BREAK GLASS” – ? This is the blog entry equivalent of that.

We’re three days out from Christmas and there’s a good chance that some of you still haven’t picked up last-minute gifts for coworkers or stocking stuffers for family members. SHAME ON YOU! (Just kidding, this is the story of my life.) Unfortunately, for many of us, our favorite all-natural and organic beauty finds require an online shipment. Ain’t nobody got time for that. And if you’re marooned in the suburbs or country this holiday, chances are you’re more than a few miles out from a specialty skincare boutique (but please support small biz if there is one in your vicinity!).

If you’re out of options (and hair), instead of grabbing the first thing you see at the drugstore and giving your mother a lumpy bag of mixed nuts or a stale chocolate bar from the CVS checkout counter (which I have done in desperation every year…sorry, Mom…), make the most of the drug/grocery/department store nearest you and snag a natural beauty gift that’s available at mainstream shops.

I hope to write more on this later, but this Acure Organics mask is a lifesaver (1). I picked it up at Whole Foods and have been using it to detox my face this holiday season (too much wine…so much butter…). Give it to your most haggard friend. I’M JOKING – give it to anyone who likes to pamper him/herself.

While I’ve never tried the Nourish Organic line, I’ve seen its artsy design dotting Target shelves – and based on its ingredients, it looks to be a great bet for all-natural body care (2). Good stuff like argan oil will be nourishing for the skin.

Another bottle with great design (3). I love how seasonally appropriate J.R. Watkins branding is (it’s like a vintage holiday up in here). Again, haven’t tried any of these products yet, but the ingredients list gets an “AOK” from me. I’d gift it!

eos (4). Need I say more? This shiz is a staple. Everyone in my family received these multi-colored spheres in their stockings last year.

Dry brushing is having a bit of a renaissance right now, so a well-made dry brush makes a great gift for anyone on your list who’s interested in self-care (5).

Happy holidays, last-minute shoppers! What are your drugstore go-tos? How do you make the best out of last-minute gift-giving?
